The company started with a simple operating rule.
I started Pest Proof in April 2014 with a simple operating rule: we show up, we inspect, we educate, and the customer decides. Twelve years and twelve trucks later, that is still how this company runs. The national franchises sell you a contract over the phone before they ever see your property. We don't operate that way. A real inspector comes to your home or your job site, walks the perimeter, looks at the entry points, the moisture, the harborage, and the conditions around the structure - then explains what is going on in language that respects your intelligence. After that, you decide what makes sense for you. Sometimes that is a recurring plan. Sometimes it is a single treatment. Sometimes it is no treatment at all and a check-in in thirty days. We are fine with every one of those answers.
The other thing to know about how we work: we approach pest and wildlife problems the way a structural inspector would, not the way a salesperson would. Ants, termites, mosquitoes, mice, raccoons, birds - every one of these has a root cause in the building, the surrounding yard, or the conditions around the structure. We focus on the structure first and the treatment second. That is why I trained as an Associate Certified Entomologist, why our technicians are also trained in attic insulation, crawl-space sealing, and exclusion repair, and why so many of our customers stay with us for years instead of shopping their contract every spring. Pest Proof is a Black-owned business, a Virginia SWaM-certified Small and Minority-Owned Business (#717984), a 6-year Best of Prince William winner (2021-2026), and the company my family wakes up to every day. Thank you for considering us.
