Termite Control - answers

How long does termite treatment take to work?

A liquid barrier treatment starts protecting immediately and eliminates an active colony over the following weeks, while bait systems work on a longer cycle by design.

It depends on the method.

A liquid soil barrier creates a treated zone around the structure right away. Termites passing through it pick up the non-repellent product and carry it back to the colony, which collapses the colony over a few weeks. The protection itself is in place the day the treatment is finished.

In-ground bait and monitoring systems take longer on purpose. Termites have to find the stations, feed, and share the bait across the colony, which can take weeks to months depending on activity. The trade-off is ongoing monitoring that catches new pressure early.

For an active infestation where you want the fastest knockdown, a liquid barrier is the direct route. For long-term monitoring of a structure with no current activity, baiting fits better. We match the method to your situation during the inspection.

Is termite damage covered by insurance?

Almost never. Termite damage is treated as preventable maintenance, not a sudden loss, which is why the protection is the prevention.

How often should termites be inspected?

Annually. An annual structural inspection catches new activity before it becomes expensive damage.
