Mosquito - seasonal and event

Mosquitoes breed in your yard. We start there.

Mosquito problems do not start in the air - they start in standing water on or near the property. We inspect the yard, identify the breeding sources, treat the perimeter, and time the recurring schedule to peak Virginia mosquito pressure.

Technician mist-treating backyard foliage for mosquitoes at dusk

How mosquito work runs.

Three-part program: identify the breeding sources, treat the harborage, and maintain the treatment cycle through the season.

01

Source-reduction walk

Standing water in gutters, planters, bird baths, tarps, condensate lines, clogged drains, plant saucers, neglected ponds, and tire ruts. We document each one and walk you through what changes the customer can make.

02

Perimeter treatment

Targeted backpack-sprayer treatment of the foliage, eaves, decks, fence lines, and harborage zones. Treatment timing matched to the species pressure and the season.

03

Recurring cycle

Bi-weekly or monthly through mosquito season (April through October in most of NoVA + Central Virginia). Event-day knockdowns available for weddings, graduations, and outdoor gatherings.

What's in the mosquito scope.

Mosquito control is a seasonal program. The recurring plan runs during active mosquito months. Event-day work is available as one-time scopes outside of a recurring plan.

Mosquito misting systems (in-ground spray rings around the perimeter of a property) are available as a separate installed scope. Ask about those during the inspection.

Mosquito questions, answered.

When does mosquito season start in Virginia?

Active mosquito pressure typically starts in mid-April and runs through mid-October in NoVA and Central Virginia. Asian tiger mosquito (the daytime biter) pressure peaks July through September.

How long does a single treatment last?

2-4 weeks under normal weather. Heavy rain or extended drought can shorten the window. The recurring cycle is timed to maintain coverage through the active season.

Will the treatment kill pollinators?

Our applications follow EPA label restrictions and pollinator-protection guidance. Treatment is targeted to harborage zones - foliage where mosquitoes rest during the day - not blooming flowers where pollinators are active. We time applications outside peak pollinator hours.

Can I get a one-time treatment for an event?

Yes. Event-day knockdowns are scheduled 24-72 hours before the gathering. We walk the property the day before, treat the harborage, and the property is ready for the event.

What about ticks?

The recurring mosquito program can be combined with tick perimeter work - same crew, same visit, single quote. Tick pressure in Virginia runs year-round in some counties, so the program can extend beyond mosquito season for combined coverage.

Do I need to be home for treatment?

No. Exterior treatment can be performed without you home as long as the technician has gate access and the property is unlocked. We notify you when the visit is complete.
